Job summary

Coreehs is seeking a safety professional to implement and monitor the Process Safety Management (PSM) system across steel plant operations, production areas and process units. You will oversee hazard identification and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role covers HAZID, HIRA, JSA, LOPA studies, and monitoring critical parameters, alarms, ESD systems and gas handling. You will ensure PTW and LOTO procedures, and maintain documentation for safe maintenance

• Implement and monitor the Process Safety Management (PSM) system across steel plant operations, production areas and process units.
• Conduct regular process safety inspections and identify hazards associated with blast furnace, DRI, EAF, induction furnace, steel melting, rolling mill and utility operations.
• Conduct Hazard Identification (HAZID), HIRA, JSA and Risk Assessments for routine, non-routine and high-risk process activities.
• Participate in HAZOP, What-If Analysis, Bow-Tie Analysis and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies as applicable.
• Monitor critical process parameters, alarms, interlocks, emergency shutdown systems and other safety-critical equipment.
• Ensure safety-critical equipment and systems are periodically inspected, tested, maintained and properly documented.
• Monitor safe handling and control of hazardous gases such as CO, H and other process gases generated or used within the steel plant.
• Ensure continuous monitoring and appropriate control measures for toxic, flammable and combustible gases in process areas.
• Monitor gas pipeline, gas holder, valve, regulator and associated process equipment for leakage and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), isolation, depressurization, draining, purging and gas-freeing procedures before maintenance activities.
• Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems for hot work, confined space, line breaking, electrical work, excavation, work at height and other hazardous activities.
