Job summary

Synechron in India is seeking an experienced RPGLE Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications on IBM i (AS/400). You will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and support DB2/400 data structures and reports.

The ideal candidate has 4–10 years of experience with RPGLE, ILE RPG, and SQL on IBM i, and is comfortable with SDLC, change management, and deployment processes. Location options include Pune, Noida, or Bengaluru with full‑time on‑site work.

Qualifications

• Proficient in RPGLE, ILE RPG, Free Format RPG, CLLE and DB2/400.
• Strong SQL knowledge including embedded SQL and database design.
• Experience in IBM i (AS/400) environments and application maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using RPGLE, ILE RPG, CLP, and DB2 on IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application support, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Develop and modify database files, stored procedures, and reports.
• Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
• Support production deployments and provide post-implementation assistance.
