Job summary

Siemens Gamesa in India leads regional procurement to localize the supply chain for Wind Power. The role focuses on regional sourcing strategy, supplier development, and cross‑category regulatory compliance to strengthen India as a sourcing market.

The candidate should have 10–15 years in procurement with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the Wind Power or energy sector in India, and deep knowledge of the Indian supplier landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years of procurement and supply chain experience; 5+ years in senior leadership in Wind Power/Energy in India.

Responsibilities

• Develop regional sourcing strategy and drive localization and early-stage local supply chain development.
• Act as primary focal point for WP Procurement in Region India; collaborate with regional management.
• Lead cross-functional regional WP OP P&SM team; drive performance and alignment with global strategies.
• Coordinate bundled volumes and align category priorities across multiple suppliers.
• Lead negotiations with local suppliers and build regional supplier relationships.
• Address quality, delivery, and shortages to ensure supply chain resilience.
• Conduct market screening and monitor regional market developments and challenger suppliers.
• Serve as regional center of competence for local content, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Develop regional Sourcing Strategy and drive localization and early-stage local supply chain development activities to re-establish India as a key sourcing market for Wind Power.
• Act as the primary focal point and representative for WP Procurement (P&SM) in Region India, collaborating closely with regional management and operations.
• Build and lead a cross-functional, and cross-category team of regional WP OP P&SM staff, driving performance development and alignment with global commodity strategies.
• Coordinate bundled volumes and resolve conflicting category priorities toward suppliers serving multiple categories in the region.
• Lead negotiations with local suppliers, establishing regional supplier relationships and representing the company in the regional supply market.
• Execute ongoing problem-solving initiatives regarding quality, delivery, and shortages to secure supply chain resilience.
• Conduct comprehensive market screening, monitoring local/regional market developments, trends, and identifying challenger suppliers to diversify the supply chain.
• Serve as the regional center of competence for local content requirements, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Support sustainability and compliance checks during supplier qualification in alignment with global standards.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the Wind Power or Energy sector in India.
• Experience in regional sourcing strategy development, cross-functional team leadership, supplier relationship management (SRM), and contract negotiation and commercial law.
• Expertise in localization and supply chain diversification, supplier development and quality assurance, risk management and mitigation, as well as sourcing strategy.
• Experience in market screening and intelligence, regulatory and local content compliance, as well as sustainability and compliance auditing.
