Job summary

Classic Electrodes India Ltd. is seeking a Production Manager in Howrah, West Bengal. You will supervise daily production, allocate manpower across lines and shifts, and ensure smooth operation of all processes to meet targets.

You will monitor machine performance, coordinate with maintenance, manage material utilization, and drive continuous improvement through Kaizen and Lean initiatives while enforcing safety and GMP standards where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities to achieve planned production targets.
• Allocate manpower efficiently across production lines and shifts.
• Ensure smooth operation of all production processes
• Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and raw materials.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control department to resolve quality issues.
• Monitor process parameters and implement corrective actions when required.
• Minimize rejection, rework, and production losses.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Promote the use of PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
• Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, 5S, and GMP, if applicable.
• Monitor consumption of raw materials and production consumables.
• Coordinate with stores department for timely material availability.
• Reduce wastage and improve material utilization.
• Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, and machine utilization records.
• Record production output, downtime, rejection, and manpower details.
• Prepare daily MIS reports for management review.
• Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives.
• Suggest methods to improve production efficiency and product quality.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise production operators and helpers.
• Conduct shift briefings and allocate work responsibilities.
• Monitor employee attendance, discipline, and productivity.
• Train new employees on production procedures and safety practices.
