Job summary

Wave Mechanics in Bengaluru is seeking a capable Supervisor – CNC operations. You will train and develop operators, drive continuous improvement, and ensure processes meet cost, quality and delivery targets.

The role requires strong CNC knowledge, turning and milling, ability to read drawings, and hands-on problem solving; supervision, communication, and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience training CNC operators.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience turning and milling CNC machines.
• Knowledge of TPM programs is advantageous.
• Proactive, with strong communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop operators to ensure proper execution of defined processes.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to meet cost, quality and delivery goals.
• Maintain knowledge of cutting data for machining various materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and brass.
• Oversee CNC machines, lathes and mills, ensuring tight tolerances and quality.
• Provide CNC programming knowledge and fixture/tooling design awareness.
• Lead turning and milling operations hands-on when required.
• Communicate effectively, supervise, and motivate the team.
• Ensure safe working environment and compliance with procedures.
• Support day-to-day machining issue resolution and process adaptation.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of the defined processes.
• Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• A good knowledge of appropriate cutting data for machining a variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and brass.
• Strong knowledge of the equipment within a machine shop, experience of manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances on CNC machines, lathes, and millers.
• A good knowledge of CNC programming techniques, production fixturing and production tooling design.
• Ideally have experience of both turning and milling CNC machines and demonstrate hands on capability.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player
• Strong supervisory, people management, motivational and training skills
• Knowledge of Haas, Fanuc & Siemens control system would be an advantage.
• Ability to set and operate as required.
• Knowledge of TPM programs an advantage.
• Ability to provide solutions to decrease cycle times and overcome day to day machining issues.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
• Ability to understand interpret engineering drawings.
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
• Maintain a safe working environment ensuring all company procedures are followed.
