Responsibilities

• Test, monitor, and optimize plant processes for consistent output and quality.

• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards per food safety norms.
• Monitor raw material, energy, and utility consumption to support targets.
• Drive operator training and effective workforce utilization.
• Coordinate daily plant operations across shifts and departments.
• Ensure IMS and all HSE guidelines are followed.
• Prepare and issue regular production and performance reports to leadership.
• Maintain accurate administrative and operational records.

Role Overview

Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of manufacturing plant performance, ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role owns day-to-day plant operations and is accountable for delivering on production, cost, quality, and safety targets.

• Hands-on experience with GMP and FSSSC audits
• Hands-on experience with spray dryers and fluidized bed dryers will be preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency of the facility.
• Manage production costs and ensure on-time delivery of finished goods.
• Test, monitor, and optimize plant processes to maintain consistent output and quality.
• Ensure product and effluent quality meet defined specifications and regulatory requirements, including food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, or equivalent).
• Ensure the plant maintains high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in accordance with food safety standards.
• Monitor and control raw material, energy, and utility consumption to support cost and sustainability targets.
• Drive operator training, development, and effective workforce utilization.
• Manage daily plant operations, ensuring smooth coordination across shifts and departments.
• Maintain full compliance with the facility's Integrated Management System (IMS) and all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines.
• Prepare, analyze, and issue regular production and performance reports to leadership.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative and operational records.
• Control plant costs to meet approved budget targets.
• Track plant downtime daily, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with a hands-on approach to plant management.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced production environment.
• Effective collaboration with site support functions (e.g., quality, maintenance, supply chain, HR) to ensure accurate communication and sound decision-making aligned with business priorities and process needs.
• Close coordination with shift supervisors on labor planning and workforce requirements.
• Ownership of operator training needs and competency development to ensure a skilled, compliant workforce.
• Working knowledge of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, or similar) is highly desirable.
• Experience in food manufacturing environments preferred, with an understanding of hygiene, allergen control, and traceability requirements.
