Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong experience in production planning and manufacturing operations.

• Strong understanding of production scheduling, manpower planning, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
• Ability to work under production targets and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.

• Develop production plans based on order requirements, capacity, manpower, and material availability.
• Monitor production progress and ensure production targets are achieved within timelines.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and other departments for uninterrupted production.
• Monitor machine utilization, production capacity, productivity, and downtime.
• Lead and supervise production teams, supervisors, and shop-floor personnel.
• Train, guide, and motivate the production team to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Implement process improvements and lean manufacturing practices wherever applicable.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in Production Planning and Manufacturing Operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, planning and scheduling, manpower utilization, production targets, quality, and overall shop-floor operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities.
• Manage complete manufacturing operations and ensure smooth production flow.
• Develop production plans based on order requirements, capacity, manpower, and material availability.
• Monitor production progress and ensure production targets are achieved within timelines.
• Effectively plan and utilize manpower across different production activities.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and other departments for uninterrupted production.
• Monitor machine utilization, production capacity, productivity, and downtime.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and resources.
• Maintain production records, MIS reports, and performance reports.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
• Monitor rejection, rework, wastage, and productivity and take necessary improvement measures.
• Lead and supervise production teams, supervisors, and shop-floor personnel.
• Train, guide, and motivate the production team to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Implement process improvements and lean manufacturing practices wherever applicable.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and discipline on the shop floor.

Key Requirements

• Diploma / B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Strong experience in production planning and manufacturing operations.
• Experience in managing production teams and shop-floor operations.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, manpower planning, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
• Ability to work under production targets and tight deadlines.
• Good problem-solving, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production KPIs.
• Candidates with experience in PEB / structural steel / fabrication / engineering manufacturing will be preferred.
