Job summary

Kumar Auto Sales is seeking a Production Manager to oversee complete production operations in its automotive manufacturing setup. The role requires coordinating with multiple departments to meet production targets, schedules and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will lead engineers, supervisors, line leaders and operators, driving continuous improvement through Lean practices and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Qualification includes engineering diploma or degree in mechanical/automobile/production.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in automotive/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production per customer requirements.
• Achieve production targets, delivery schedules and line efficiency.
• Manage manpower, machines, materials and capacity.
• Lead Production Engineers, Supervisors, Line Leaders and Operators.
• Monitor OEE, productivity, cycle time and machine utilization.
• Control rejection, rework, scrap and losses with Quality.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Poka-Yoke and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Quality, PPC, Purchase, Stores, Maintenance, Tool Room, R&D and Dispatch.
• Ensure SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Standards and Safety Procedures.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and breakdown reduction.
• Support new product development, prototyping and production launch.
• Identify production problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive cost reduction, waste reduction and productivity improvement projects.
• Conduct shop-floor inspections, 5S audits and performance reviews.
• Prepare Production MIS, rejection, downtime, productivity and target-achievement reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, PPE, quality and company policies.

JOB PURPOSE

To manage complete production operations and ensure achievement of Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity and Safety targets through effective manpower, machine and process management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
