Job summary

ACT Plast Paints is seeking a seasoned Injection Moulding supervisor in Tamil Nadu to drive production targets with optimal machine utilization. The role covers planning, supervision from setup to finished product, and continuous process optimization to reduce cycle times while maintaining quality.

The candidate will monitor process parameters, troubleshoot moulding issues, and coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime and wastage.

• Ensure production targets are achieved on time with optimum machine utilization.
• Prepare machine loading plans based on mould, machine capacity, material, and cycle time.
• Monitor actual production versus planned production and take corrective actions.
• Ensure minimum production downtime and maximum machine utilization.
• Supervise the complete injection moulding process from mould setup to finished product.
• Monitor and optimize process parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot moulding problems and ensure quick corrective action.
• Reduce cycle time without compromising product quality.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure production targets are achieved on time with optimum machine utilization.
• Prepare machine loading plans based on mould, machine capacity, material, and cycle time.
• Monitor actual production versus planned production and take corrective actions.
• Ensure minimum production downtime and maximum machine utilization.
• Supervise the complete injection moulding process from mould setup to finished product.
• Monitor and optimize process parameters such as temperature, pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot moulding problems and ensure quick corrective action.
• Reduce cycle time without compromising product quality.
• Ensure proper handling and drying of engineering plastics and other raw materials.
• Control rejection, rework, and process variation.
• Monitor common injection moulding defects such as flash, short shot, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, weld lines, and black spots.
• Coordinate with the Quality Department for customer complaints and process improvements.
• Allocate operators, setters, technicians, and supervisors effectively.
• Train employees on machine operation, quality standards, safety, and SOPs.
• Develop multi-skilled operators and technicians.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Tool Room for machine and mould availability.
• Minimize machine breakdowns and mould-related downtime.
• Ensure proper mould changeover and machine setup.
• Monitor OEE, availability, performance, and quality.
• Identify major causes of productivity loss and implement improvement actions.
• Reduce machine idle time, breakdown time, setup time, and minor stoppages.
• Monitor daily scrap and rejection percentage.
• Identify major rejection reasons and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Control material wastage, regrind usage, and process losses.
• Reduce energy consumption and unnecessary machine running.
• Implement cost-saving and productivity improvement projects.
