Job summary

Layam is seeking an Injection Moulding Engineer to manage shift-wise production in a Tamil Nadu facility, ensuring machines run smoothly, targets are met, and quality is maintained. You will lead moulding operations, optimize processes, troubleshoot defects, and coordinate with Quality and Maintenance teams for continuous production.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience with injection moulding, strong leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety, 5S and Kaizen

Qualifications

• Experience in Injection Moulding production on shift basis.
• Knowledge of injection moulding processes and troubleshooting.
• Experience with process optimization and mould maintenance.
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, OEE, SPC and Root Cause Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute shift production as per the daily production schedule.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle time, productivity, and quality.
• Supervise injection moulding machine operations, process settings, and mould changeovers.
• Troubleshoot moulding defects and reduce rejection and scrap.
• Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance teams for uninterrupted production.
• Maintain production reports, shift handover records, and ensure 5S, safety and standards compliance.

Role Purpose

The Injection Moulding Engineer will be responsible for managing shift-wise production, ensuring smooth machine operations, achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute shift production as per the daily production schedule.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle time, productivity, and quality.
• Supervise injection moulding machine operations, process settings, and mould changeovers.
• Troubleshoot moulding defects and reduce rejection and scrap.
• Coordinate with the Quality and Maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Maintain production reports, shift handover records, and ensure compliance with 5S, safety, and manufacturing standards.

Requirements

• 28 years of experience in Injection Moulding production.
• Experience in handling shift production in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of injection moulding processes, troubleshooting, process optimization, and mould maintenance.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, OEE, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
