Job summary

Nesans Mining and Automation in Tamil Nadu seeks a Production Engineer to support day-to-day manufacturing on the shop floor, covering fabrication, machining and assembly while ensuring jobs move per drawing, plan and quality standards.

You will supervise fabrication, welding, machining, fitting and assembly, coordinate with stores for timely material, and enforce safety and 5S practices on the shop floor. Proficiency in Tamil and English is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of welding, machining and assembly processes.
• Understanding of production planning and shop floor coordination.
• Familiarity with MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Willingness to work hands-on on the shop floor.
• Good communication and manpower coordination skills.
• Fluency in Tamil; working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily production plans and track job-wise progress against the schedule.
• Supervise fabrication, welding, machining, fitting, and assembly work on the shop floor.
• Ensure work is carried out as per drawings, BOM, and process sheets.
• Allocate work to fitters, welders, and operators and monitor output/quality.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for material availability.
• Follow up with vendors on outsourced machining, fabrication, and painting.
• Raise drawing queries with Design and resolve floor issues.
• Support Quality in in-process inspection and non-conformance closure.
• Maintain job cards, daily production reports, and ERP entries.
• Enforce safety norms, PPE usage, and 5S in the work area.

We are looking for a Production Engineer to support day-to-day manufacturing on the shop floor covering fabrication, machining, and assembly — and to ensure jobs move as per drawing, plan, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily production plans and track job-wise progress against the schedule.
• Supervise fabrication, welding, machining, fitting, and assembly work on the shop floor.
• Ensure all work is carried out as per approved drawings, BOM, and process sheets.
• Allocate work to fitters, welders, and operators and monitor output and quality.
• Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely material and bought-out item availability.
• Follow up with vendors on outsourced machining, fabrication, and painting jobs.
• Raise drawing queries with the Design team and resolve floor-level issues.
• Support Quality in in-process inspection, non-conformance closure, and rework control.
• Maintain job cards, daily production reports, material consumption, and ERP entries.
