The production engineer will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, timely delivery of products, and adherence to quality standards. The role requires a practical, multi-skilled individual capable of managing manpower, machines, and materials in a dynamic small‑scale setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily/weekly production schedules based on orders and inventory.
- Allocate manpower and machines to meet targets efficiently.
- Process Optimization
- Identify bottlenecks and implement low‑cost improvements.
- Minimize waste and downtime through lean practices.
- Quality Assurance
- Monitor in‑process and final product quality.
- Coordinate with Design/QC team to resolve defects and maintain standards.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Troubleshoot minor breakdowns and coordinate repairs.
- Inventory & Material Control
- Track raw material usage and reorder levels.
- Coordinate with stores and vendors for timely supply.
- Maintain production logs, rejection reports, and maintenance records.
- Ensure safety and statutory compliance (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 standards, pollution, labor laws).
- Train and supervise operators and technicians.
- Foster a culture of discipline, safety, and productivity.
Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering;
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setup (preferably small‑scale);
- Working knowledge of shop‑floor tools, CNC/lathe machines, welding, etc.;
- Knowledge of ASME Standards, and Oil & Gas Industry experience is preferred;
- Familiarity with basic ERP and MS Office;
- Strong problem‑solving and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
