Job summary

Primo Automation Systems in Chennai seeks a seasoned procurement professional to lead sourcing of bought-out components and manage supplier relationships. The role covers PR reviews, quotations, PO issuance, and ensuring on-time delivery in a manufacturing setup.

The candidate should have extensive procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, ERP familiarity, and effective communication to coordinate with stores, production, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement/buying of bought-out items in engineering/manufacturing sectors.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Basic knowledge of ERP and MS Excel.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requirements and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review Purchase Requisitions (PR) and identify suitable suppliers.
• Source and procure bought-out components, Electrical, Mechanical and Electronic items
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate price and commercial terms.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (PO) as per company procedures.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD).
• Coordinate with Stores, Production, Planning.
• Maintain supplier records, quotations, PO status and delivery commitments.
• Support cost reduction and alternate supplier development.
• Resolve delivery, quality and commercial issues with suppliers.
• Ensure procurement is completed within the required lead time.
