PCB Jobs Search Consultant in Karnataka is seeking a seasoned Buyer responsible for sourcing, purchasing and managing raw materials, components and services for manufacturing operations. You will ensure timely procurement, quality materials and cost-competitive sourcing to support production schedules.
Key duties include supplier negotiations, performance reviews, and collaboration with production, planning and inventory teams.
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of raw materials, components, consumables, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role ensures timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting production schedules..
Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production. Obtain quotations from approved suppliers and evaluate price, quality, delivery, and service. Issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies and ERP requirements. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers. Identify and develop alternative suppliers to reduce supply chain risks.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply. Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, and delivery. Conduct supplier reviews and participate in supplier audits as required. Resolve supplier issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
Collaborate with production planning and inventory teams to ensure material availability. Monitor inventory levels and support inventory optimization initiatives. Expedite critical orders to prevent production disruptions. Analyze demand forecasts and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
Identify opportunities for cost savings through negotiations, supplier consolidation, and process improvements. Support value engineering and cost reduction projects. Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain risks.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier documentation. Support quality management and environmental compliance requirements.
Bachelors / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical)
7 years of procurement or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems.
Strong negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes. Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Understanding of MRP, inventory control, and production planning concepts. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
