Job summary

Firefly Fire Pumps is seeking an experienced Procurement professional to manage end-to-end engineering materials procurement. You will ensure quality, cost, quantity and delivery while developing a reliable supplier base and driving cost reductions across BOMs and drawings.

You will float RFQs, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms, release POs in SAP/ERP, and coordinate with PPC, Production and Quality to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement in manufacturing or engineering industry.
• Experience in procurement of machined, fabricated, sheet-metal, electrical and bought-out components will be preferred.
• Experience in vendor development, cost negotiation and cost reduction is essential.
• Hands-on experience in SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical, electrical, fabricated, machined and bought-out components as per production requirements.
• Float RFQs, evaluate quotations and prepare comparative statements for commercial and technical evaluation.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time, MOQ and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for existing and new components.
• Identify new suppliers and conduct vendor evaluation, qualification and development.
• Release and manage Purchase Orders in SAP/ERP and ensure timely order execution.
• Coordinate with PPC, Production, Design, Quality, Stores and Accounts for procurement requirements and issue resolution.
• Monitor supplier commitments, material lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
• Drive cost reduction, alternate sourcing and value engineering initiatives.
• Analyse purchase prices, historical rates and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure procurement is aligned with BOM, drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Handle supplier-related issues such as delays, quality concerns, price revisions and shortages.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor data, rate contracts and MIS reports.
• Track and improve supplier performance based on quality, cost and delivery parameters.
• Support annual budgeting, procurement planning and management reporting.
