Pre-Sales Manager/Commercial Head

Job Overview:

The Pre-Sales Manager is the financial gatekeeper of the organization. You ensure no quote is sent to a client unless the packaging is mathematically profitable to manufacture. You oversee the estimation team and audit commercial viability across highly diverse packaging structures-from simple corrugated transit boxes to complex fitments for rotomolded insulated containers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Approve final pricing models and commercial proposals before they are presented to enterprise clients.
• Audit Bills of Materials (BOMs) and waste margins to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate bulk raw material rates with the procurement department to lower the cost-goods-sold (COGS) and aid sales pricing.
• Manage the Packaging Estimators and ensure turnaround times for quotes meet Sales Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 10+ years in commercial operations, advanced costing, or print/packaging estimation.
• Deep financial literacy regarding factory overheads, machine hourly rates, and raw material Index tracking.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with specialized ERP/estimation software.

KPIs:

• Profit margin accuracy (variance between estimated profit and actual post-production profit).
• Turnaround time for delivering approved quotes to the sales team.
• Percentage of material waste reduced through pre-production auditing.
