Role Purpose
They will serve as the financial steward for the Packaging Business Vertical, owning end-to-end financial planning, reporting, cost management, and business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecast cycle for the packaging vertical
- Prepare machine-wise and product-wise contribution models, linking volumes to EBITDA outcomes
- Coordinate with production, sales, and procurement to build bottoms-up budgets
- Present budget vs. actuals (BvA) analysis with variance commentary to senior management
2. MIS & Management Reporting
- Produce monthly P&L, cost centre reports, and operational dashboards on time
- Develop exception reports and early-warning indicators for revenue, receivables, and costs
3. Cost Management & Profitability
- Drive cost reduction initiatives across paper/raw material, consumables, utilities, and overheads
- Monitor waste, yield, and conversion costs; flag deviations for corrective action
4. Working Capital & Cash Flow
- Manage debtors, creditors, and inventory financing to optimise cash conversion cycle
- Prepare/Monitor weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts and flag liquidity requirements proactively
- Coordinate with group treasury for fund allocation, LC/BG requirements, and banking relationships
6. Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure timely GST filings, TDS compliance, and liaison with group taxation team
- Co-ordinate statutory and internal audits; resolve queries and implement recommendations
- Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and CWIP tracking for capex projects
- Support preparation of financial statements for the subsidiary entity
7. ERP & Process Excellence
- Drive process standardisation: PO-to-payment, job order costing, and revenue recognition
- Support evaluation and rollout of e-procurement / reverse auction tools for cost savings
Required Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
- 6-8 years of post-qualification experience
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle)
- Strong command over MS Excel for financial modelling, MIS build-out, and variance analysis
Preferred
- Prior experience in job-order costing, print-process cost accounting, or paper/packaging commodity analysis
- Exposure to GST in a manufacturing context, including input tax credit reconciliation
