Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate detailed product cost sheets (fabric, trims, CM, overheads) for styles/orders across buyers and categories.
• Drive pre-costing and post-costing analysis, tracking variances and identifying cost leakages.
• Partner with merchandising and procurement teams to support pricing decisions, margin negotiations and profitability reviews.
• Monitor and analyse actual vs. costed order profitability (fabric consumption, labour efficiency, overhead absorption).
• Work with production, sourcing and industrial engineering teams to optimize cost structures and improve efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain costing models, benchmarks, and standard cost databases for different product categories.
• Evaluate capex proposals and ROI analyses.
• Identify and drive cost optimization initiatives across raw materials, processes and supply chain.
• Strengthen commercial controls and governance around costing and margin thresholds.
• Prepare MIS reports on costing, margins and profitability for management review.
• Lead/mentor a small team and coordinate cross-functional activities.

The role leads a team of experienced professionals, ensuring accuracy in product costing, strengthening costing frameworks, and partnering with business, merchandising, and operations to optimize profitability. Additionally, the position requires strong leadership capability to manage senior stakeholders, build high-performing teams, drive governance and controls, and enable data-driven strategic decisions across the enterprise.

Job Description:

• Prepare and validate detailed product cost sheets (fabric, trims, CM, overheads) for styles/orders across buyers and categories.
• Drive pre-costing and post-costing analysis, tracking variances and identifying cost leakages.
• Partner with merchandising and procurement teams to support pricing decisions, margin negotiations. Prepare and review the factory and order profitability.
• Monitor and analyse actual vs. costed order profitability (fabric consumption, labour efficiency, overhead absorption).
• Work closely with production, sourcing, and industrial engineering teams to optimize cost structures and improve efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain costing models, benchmarks, and standard cost databases for different product categories.
• Evaluate capex proposals (machinery, automation, capacity expansion) and ROI analysis.
• Identify and drive cost optimization initiatives across raw materials, processes, and supply chain.
• Strengthen commercial controls and governance around costing, approvals, and margin thresholds.
• Prepare and present MIS reports on costing, margins, and various profitability reports such as factory and customer profitability, for management review.
• Lead/mentor a small team and support cross-functional coordination for seamless execution.
