Job summary

Staffelsee Ar is seeking an automation engineer to develop and optimize PLC programs for industrial machines in Chennai and клиента sites. You will configure HMI/SCADA, integrate servo motors, and troubleshoot multiple protocols, supporting FAT/SAT, commissioning, and service.

The role requires hands-on experience in machine-building or automation, with willingness to travel for installation and service. Strong collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and software teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in machine-building or industrial automation.
• Experience with robotics, packaging machinery, or SPMs is a plus.
• Familiarity with commissioning, FAT/SAT, and on-site service.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs for industrial automation and machine-control applications.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs using Ladder Logic, FBD, and SFC.
• Develop and configure HMI and SCADA applications, including alarms, trends, recipes, and machine parameters.
• Integrate and troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, and motion-control systems.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP.
• Perform FAT, SAT, machine commissioning, start-up, and production support activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC, HMI, SCADA, servo, sensors, load cells, and industrial communication.
• Develop and implement recipe management and load cell integration systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and machine wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Project teams for machine development and technical issue resolution.
• Conduct machine testing and ensure automation systems meet project specifications, quality, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical support during customer-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and after-sales service.
• Prepare and maintain PLC/HMI software backups, technical documentation, commissioning reports, and troubleshooting records.
• Train operators, maintenance personnel, and site technicians on machine operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance machine performance, reliability, productivity, and cycle time.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and service activities.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in machine-building, industrial automation, robotics, packaging machinery, assembly machines, material handling, process automation, or special-purpose machines (SPM) will be preferred.
