Job summary

Contek Automation in Bengaluru seeks an automation engineer to design, develop, and deploy PLC logic and HMI interfaces for industrial systems. You will work with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Delta platforms, configure Modbus and other fieldbuses, and integrate drives and sensors into complete control solutions.

You will perform FAT/SAT, onsite commissioning, and deliver detailed design documents and manuals for operators and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing PLC ladder logic and structured text.
• Proficiency with HMI/SCADA interfaces and plant integration.
• Familiarity with Siemens, Mitsubishi and Delta PLC platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC ladder logic and structured text for automated machinery.
• Develop intuitive HMI/SCADA interfaces using WinCC/TIA Portal, GOT/GT Designer, and DOPSoft.
• Program major PLC platforms (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Delta) using respective tools.
• Configure Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, CC-Link protocols.
• Integrate VFDs, servo drives, sensors, encoders with control systems.
• Perform FAT, SAT, hardware loop testing and on-site commissioning.
• Troubleshoot faults and optimize automation code.
• Prepare documentation including FDS, IO lists, control narratives, user manuals.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC ladder logic, function blocks, and structured text programs for automated machinery and industrial processes.
• Develop intuitive HMI/SCADA interfaces using Siemens WinCC/TIA Portal, Mitsubishi GOT/GT Designer, and Delta DOPSoft.
• Program and integrate major PLC platforms:
  • Siemens: S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300/400 using TIA Portal and STEP 7.
  • Mitsubishi: FX Series, Q Series, iQ-R Series using GX Works2 / GX Works3.
  • Delta: DVP / AS / AH Series using ISPSoft or WPLSoft.
• Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus (RTU/TCP), Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and CC-Link.
• Integrate VFDs, servo drives, sensors, encoders, and third-party instruments with control systems.
• Perform complete factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), hardware loop testing, and on-site commissioning.
• Troubleshoot system faults, diagnose control panel hardware/wiring issues, and optimize existing automation code.
• Prepare detailed documentation including functional design specifications (FDS), IO lists, control narratives, and user manuals.
