Job summary

Thompsons Hr Consulting in India is seeking an experienced PLC programmer to develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems. You will work with multiple platforms and help integrate HMI, SCADA, VFDs, and sensors during machine development.

The role involves commissioning, testing, debugging, FAT/SAT, and collaboration with electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and production teams to improve cycle time, productivity, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience developing PLC programs for automation systems.
• Familiarity with multiple PLC platforms is preferred.
• Ability to integrate HMI/SCADA, VFDs and sensors into automation networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
• Program PLCs using platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Omron, or Delta.
• Develop and modify Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Text (ST) programs.
• Configure and integrate HMI, SCADA, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and industrial communication networks.
• Perform PLC commissioning, testing, debugging, and site installation.
• Analyze machine/process requirements and convert them into PLC control logic.
• Troubleshoot PLC hardware, software, I/O, communication, and machine-related issues.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Interface PLCs with robots, motion controllers, vision systems, and other automation equipment.
• Prepare and maintain PLC programs, electrical control documentation, I/O lists, and system manuals.
• Work closely with electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and production teams during machine development and commissioning.
• Provide technical support for breakdowns and ensure minimum machine downtime.
• Implement machine safety logic and follow relevant industrial automation and electrical safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement and optimization of machine cycle time, productivity, and reliability.
