Job summary

Atomberg Technologies in Pune is seeking an experienced PLC Developer with hands-on expertise in industrial automation and system integration. You will develop and commission PLC/HMI-based automation systems, integrate motion control, robots, sensors and industrial networks, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and IoT teams to ensure reliable production lines.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years hands-on PLC programming and automation experience
• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation engineering
• Proficient with Mitsubishi GX Works and/or Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7
• Experience in HMI/SCADA development (WinCC or Mitsubishi GOT)
• Familiarity with RS-232/RS-485, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet protocols and industrial networks
• Knowledge of LabVIEW integration and data acquisition is a plus
• Reading electrical drawings and safety PLC concepts

Job description

ROLE PURPOSE

We are looking for an experienced PLC Developer with hands-on experience in industrial automation, machine development, and system integration. The role involves developing and commissioning PLC/HMI-based automation systems, integrating motion control, robots, sensors, and industrial communication protocols. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with machine commissioning, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration across mechanical, electrical, software, and IoT teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, program, test, and commission PLC-based automation systems using Mitsubishi GX Works and Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, and design HMI/SCADA applications using Siemens WinCC and Mitsubishi GOT.
• Integrate PLCs with servo drives, VFDs, stepper drives and other motion control systems, along with field devices including sensors, actuators, safety devices, barcode/QR scanners, vision systems, RFID and weighing controllers.
• Integrate industrial robots with PLC-based automation systems and support I/O mapping, and develop communication interfaces between PLCs and LabVIEW for testing, data acquisition and automation applications.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks and protocols, and execute machine commissioning, FAT, SAT and on-site troubleshooting.
• Prepare electrical control logic documentation, I/O lists, wiring verification and technical reports, and optimize machine cycle time and improve system reliability.
• Resolve automation issues for production teams, and ensure accurate PLC/SCADA data availability for reporting and analysis in collaboration with Software Controls and IT/IoT teams.
• Support SPM and machine automation development, including electrical panel troubleshooting, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and cross-functional teams during machine development.

MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE

• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, and machine development.
• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Mitsubishi GX Works and/or Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7, including HMI/SCADA development (Siemens WinCC or Mitsubishi GOT).
• Strong understanding of RS232/RS485, Modbus TCP/RTU, CANopen, and at least one industrial Ethernet protocol such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or CC-Link.
• Experience with OPC-UA/Modbus TCP, HMI driver configuration, tag mapping, and communication health monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with digital/analog I/O, sensors, encoders, servo drives, VFDs, stepper motors, vision and positioning systems.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot end-to-end industrial communication architecture, and experience integrating PLCs with LabVIEW.
• Understanding of industrial safety standards and safety PLCs, and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
• Experience with MES/traceability systems; knowledge of SQL database communication is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills; experience with ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa, KUKA, Universal Robots, or similar industrial robots is an added advantage.
