Job summary

Nexage Technology in Pune is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to develop and modify PLC programs for conveyor systems, material handling, robotics, and SPM automation. You will lead the Electrical & Automation Department and coordinate with customers to understand automation requirements.

The role covers programming on Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi platforms, HMI/SCADA development, FAT/SAT, on-site commissioning, and delivering technical training and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in PLC Programming and Industrial Automation.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, Industrial IoT, and Electrical Control Systems.
• Experience with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and CC-Link.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage multiple automation projects.

Responsibilities

Job Description PLC Programmer

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC programs as per automation project requirements for Conveyor Systems, Material Handling Equipment, Robotic Automation, Assembly Automation, IoTbased Systems, and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
• Lead the Electrical & Automation Department consisting of 510 engineers.
• Program, configure, test, and troubleshoot PLCs using Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi platforms.
• Develop and configure HMI and SCADA applications.
• Design electrical drawings, control schematics, PLC panel layouts, I/O lists, and P&ID diagrams.
• Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, Servo Drives, Sensors, Actuators, and Control Panels.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), system simulation, and onsite commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation, commissioning, and production support.
• Coordinate with customers to understand automation requirements and provide effective technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, electrical drawings, manuals, and commissioning reports.
• Provide after-sales technical support and troubleshooting.
• Travel to customer sites across India for project execution, commissioning, and support.
• Conduct regular team meetings, monitor project progress, follow up on ongoing projects, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Provide technical guidance, engineering solutions, troubleshooting, and continuous support to team members during project execution.
• Plan and deliver technical training programs (Online, Offline, and Onsite) on PLC, HMI, SCADA, Industrial Automation, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for project execution, customer enquiries, and quotations.
• Build, mentor, and strengthen the Electrical & Automation team by developing technical capabilities and maintaining engineering standards.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in PLC Programming and Industrial Automation.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, Industrial IoT, and Electrical Control Systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, and CC-Link.
• Good understanding of Servo Systems, VFDs, Sensors, Actuators, Electrical Panels, and Machine Automation.
• Proven experience in leading Electrical & Automation teams and handling multiple automation projects simultaneously.
• Experience in preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) for automation projects and customer enquiries.
• Strong leadership, team management, mentoring, and training abilities.
• Experience in onsite commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively for project execution.
• Note: Preference will be given to candidates from Robotic Automation Companies (First Preference), followed by PLC System Integrator Companies, System Integration Companies, Industrial Automation Companies, Machine Manufacturing Companies, Conveyor & Material Handling Equipment Manufacturers, and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Manufacturers. Candidates from other industries may not be considered.
