Job summary

Narain Engineers Infratech is seeking a skilled Project Planner/Controls Engineer to develop baseline programmes, monitor progress, and manage cost reporting for civil construction projects. You will coordinate with Site, Billing, Procurement, QA/QC and PM teams to ensure on-time delivery within budget.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in planning and project controls, strong Primavera P6/MS Project skills, and robust MS Excel capabilities for MIS reporting and delay analysis.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 5+ years of Planning, Project Controls and Cost Management in civil construction.
• Hands-on in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, baseline programmes, progress monitoring and delay analysis.
• MS Excel proficiency and project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project baselines, schedules, and work plans.
• Prepare, monitor, and update weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Monitor progress against baselines and identify deviations.
• Prepare schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or bar charts.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost monitoring reports.
• Track quantities, materials, and work executed with reconciliations.
• Verify RA Bills, BOQ quantities, variation statements, and measurements.
• Monitor cash flow and flag potential overruns.
• Coordinate with Site, Billing, Procurement, QA/QC and PM teams.
• Analyze delays and develop recovery/mitigation plans.
• Maintain project planning docs, MIS reports, and cost-control records.
• Provide updates on progress, costs, delays, and risks.
• Ensure projects meet budget, contract, and schedule timelines.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project baseline programmes, detailed schedules and work plans in line with project requirements.
• Prepare, monitor and update weekly and monthly project progress reports.
• Monitor actual project progress against planned/baseline schedules and identify deviations.
• Prepare and update project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project / Bar Charts.
• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and cost monitoring reports.
• Track quantities, materials consumed and work executed, including reconciliation of quantities.
• Verify and monitor RA Bills, BOQ quantities, variation statements and work measurements.
• Monitor project cash flow and identify potential cost overruns and financial deviations.
• Coordinate closely with Site, Billing, Procurement, QA/QC and Project Management teams.
• Analyze project delays, identify critical activities and prepare recovery / mitigation plans.
• Maintain proper project planning documentation, MIS reports and cost-control records.
• Provide management with regular updates on project progress, cost status, delays and risks.
• Ensure projects are completed within the approved budget, contractual requirements and scheduled timelines.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Planning, Project Controls and Cost Management, preferably in Civil Construction/Building Projects.
• Hands-on experience in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, baseline programme, progress monitoring and delay analysis.
• Good understanding of BOQ, RA Bills, quantity reconciliation, cost estimation and budget monitoring.
• Experience in cost control, cash-flow monitoring and project MIS reporting.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and project reporting.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with Project, Billing, Procurement, QA/QC and Site teams.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates with experience in large-scale construction/building projects will be preferred.
