The role requires BE/BTech in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of overall experience, and 4+ years with Primavera P6; MSP proficiency and on-site

Responsibilities

Job Title: Planning Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer with a Civil Engineering background to support infrastructure projects/ Industrial Projects through effective planning, progress tracking, and schedule control. The role involves working closely with site teams, regularly updating construction progress in Microsoft Project (MSP), and applying Primavera P6 expertise to analyse Plan vs Actual and propose strategies to accelerate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project (MSP)
• Track month-on-month construction progress based on site inputs and execution status
• Prepare and maintain baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and revised programs as required
• Monitor critical path activities and key milestones to ensure timely delivery

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Update actual site progress in MSP through regular site visits and coordination with execution teams
• Prepare Plan vs Actual analysis reports and highlight schedule variances
• Generate progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for project management and clients
• Support preparation of monthly progress reports and review meetings

Primavera P6 Planning & Analysis

• Prepare and analyze detailed schedules in Primavera P6
• Perform schedule risk analysis and identify potential delays
• Compare MSP and P6 schedules to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Utilize Primavera P6 for advanced planning, forecasting, and reporting

Schedule Optimization & Recovery Planning

• Propose multiple execution strategies to accelerate project progress and recover delays
• Analyse alternative sequencing, resource optimization, and parallel activity planning
• Support site teams with planning inputs to fast-track critical activities
• Assist in preparing recovery schedules and mitigation plans

Site Coordination & Stakeholder Interaction

• Work closely with site execution teams, contractors, and consultants to collect accurate progress data
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide planning insights for decision-making
• Ensure alignment between construction methodology and project schedule

Qualification & Experience

• B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 5+ years of overall work experience
• At least 4+ years of hands‑on experience in Primavera P6
• Strong experience in Microsoft Project (MSP)
• Prior experience in Infrastructure Projects/Industrial Projects is mandatory
