Avighna Group is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist in Mumbai to manage end-to-end monthly payroll for all employees with precision and timely delivery.

You will ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS) and timely returns, while handling F&F settlements and audits. Strong Excel and payroll analytics are essential for accurate MIS reporting and data integrity.

Job description

• Manage the complete end-to-end monthly payroll process for all employees ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure strict compliance with all statutory regulations including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF) and TDS.
• Oversee the timely preparation and filing of all monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
• Manage the full and final settlement (F&F) process for all exiting employees, including gratuity, leave encashment, and other payables.
• Act as the primary point of contact for resolving all employee queries related to payroll, taxation, and reimbursements.
• Collaborate closely with the departments for payroll reconciliation, fund management and to provide support during internal and external audits.
• Maintain the integrity of the payroll system, ensuring employee master data is up-to-date and accurate. Generate insightful MIS reports on attendance, payroll costs, variances and other key metrics for senior management.
• Support the PMS cycle, ensuring accurate performance calculation data and assisting in analysing outcomes to support appraisal and increment decisions. Evaluate and recommend suitable PMS models and methodologies based on organizational and functional requirements.
• Handle year-end payroll activities, including investment proof verification, tax calculations, and issuance of Form 16. Continuously review and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Preferred candidate profile

• Thorough knowledge of payroll statutory compliances, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS and applicable labour laws, along with statutory returns and filings.
• Excellent Excel/HR analytics skills. Strong proficiency in payroll calculations, payroll taxation, reconciliation, variance analysis and payroll MIS, with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
• Proven experience in managing Full & Final Settlements, including gratuity, leave encashment and other employee dues.
• Experience with payroll systems , maintain accurate employee master data.
