Job summary

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operative: prepare OT, check equipment, arrange instruments, sterilize as per protocol, assist patient positioning.
• Intra-Operative: assist surgeons, provide instruments, maintain sterile field, monitor supplies.
• Post-Operative: disinfect OT, send for sterilization, dispose biomedical waste, record procedures and equipment usage.

Role & responsibilities

Pre-Operative Duties

• Prepare operation theatre before surgery.
• Check functioning of OT equipment, lights, suction apparatus, cautery, monitors, and anesthesia machines.
• Arrange sterile surgical instruments, drapes, linen, and consumables.
• Ensure sterilization of instruments as per infection control protocol.
• Assist in patient shifting and positioning for surgery.

Intra-Operative Duties

• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during procedures.
• Provide required instruments and materials promptly.
• Maintain sterile field throughout surgery.
• Handle surgical equipment safely.
• Monitor OT supplies and maintain smooth workflow.

Post-Operative Duties

• Clean and disinfect OT after procedures.
• Send instruments for sterilization.
• Dispose biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
• Prepare OT for next surgery.
• Maintain records of procedures and equipment usage.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT)

Experience
