Job summary

NEW Town Nursing Home And Diagonistics Co in Kolkata seeks an OT technician to prepare the operating theatre, arrange instruments, and maintain sterility under the clinical team.

You will assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, handle instruments, monitor supplies, and help with patient positioning and safe transfers in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre before surgery.
• Check and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain sterility and infection-control protocols.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during procedures.
• Prepare and handle surgical instruments and sterile packs.
• Operate and check OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery units, surgical lights, and other devices.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation under the direction of the clinical team.
• Monitor availability of consumables, implants, and emergency supplies.
• Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments according to hospital protocols.
• Assist with counting instruments, needles, and other materials before and after surgery.
• Help transfer patients safely to and from the operating theatre.
• Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.
• Follow hospital policies, occupational-safety standards, and infection-prevention procedures.
• Assist with emergency and trauma surgeries when required.
