Job summary

Arete Circle Llp seeks a Design Engineer / New Product Development Engineer with a strong background in auto components. You will assess feasibility for RFQs, lead APQP-based projects, and oversee design of processes for cold forging and machining.

Strong GD&T know-how and PPAP readiness are essential. The role requires hands-on use of 3D CAD and AutoCAD, with emphasis on cost estimation, risk mitigation, and continual process improvement.

Qualifications

• B.E. Mechanical or Diploma with 10+ years in auto components manufacturing.
• Familiar with GD&T and engineering standards.
• Hands-on APQP/NPD experience and PPAP readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects and manage APQP timing plans.
• Design processes for cold forging, machining and related tooling.
• Support supplier audits and process improvements in line with IATF.

Design Engineer / New Product Development Engineer
B.E Mechanical or Diploma with Minimum 10 years of experience in Auto Component manufacturing
preferably from reputed Cold forging cum IATF certified Industry with the following knowledge:
1. Feasibility study of New RFQs from the customer and cost working based on estimation of
mass, cycle time and machine hour rate.
2. Preparing Risk analysis for new projects and mitigation plans for risks.
3. Study the customer drawing with reference to engineering standards and concepts (GD&T).
4. Hands on experience in APQP methodology of NPD, Lead the projects as per APQP timing plan
and Prepare corrective actions reports for preproduction quality issues or customer concerns.
5. Design the process sequence for new product by Cold forging, Machining and other process as
per customer requirement. Adept in design of cold forging tools using any 3D modeling software
/ AutoCAD.
6. Knowledge of material and their properties related to formability and metallurgy.
7. Support purchase for new supplier assessment audits, periodic assessment of supplier through
process and system audits for improvements according to company and IATF requirements.
8. Planning and executing the installation of new machinery and parts in line as per plan.
9. Hands on experience in preparing PPAP including FMEA, Control plan, SPC & MSA for new
products.
10. Work towards continual improvement in the production process
11. Planning for Gauges and instrument required for NPD products.
12. Sound knowledge in Shop floor control & problem solving, Cutting Tools selection and prove-
out, Fixture design and prove-out, Machine layout planning
