Job summary

Ciel HR seeks a seasoned NPD leader in Mysore to drive new product development from feasibility through production release. You will manage the Master List of Engineering Documents, create process flow charts, PFMEA, and control plans, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches.

With 13+ years in manufacturing/auto forging, you will establish engineering standards, lead validation and industrialization, and guide continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality,

Qualifications

• Experience leading New Product Development in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, Control Plans, and process documentation.
• Understanding of drawing control, revision management and document control processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD activities from feasibility study to production release.
• Prepare and maintain Master List of Engineering Documents.
• Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts and related records.
• Coordinate PFMEA and Control Plan preparation with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare engineering data for costing of new products/items.
• Establish drawing control systems and revision management.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and cost.
• Develop and maintain Engineering Standards across products and processes.
• Lead product design validation, trials, APQP, and industrialization.
• Ensure Change Management processes for product and process changes.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, SCM and Commercial teams for launches.
• Identify root causes and implement CAPA actions.
• Mentor team members and support audits (IATF 16949, customer/internal).
• Monitor project timelines, resources, and milestone achievement.
• Lead risk assessments related to new products, tooling and processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage New Product Development (NPD) activities from feasibility study to production release.
2. Prepare and maintain the Master List of Engineering Documents, ensuring document accuracy and accessibility.
3. Develop and maintain Process Flow Charts, manufacturing process documentation, and related engineering records.
4. Coordinate with cross-functional teams for preparation and updating of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plans.
5. Prepare and validate engineering data for costing of new products/items to support quotation and business decisions.
6. Establish and maintain effective Drawing Control Systems, including revision management and distribution of drawings.
7. Drive Continual Improvement Projects in coordination with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other functions to improve productivity, quality, and cost.
8. Develop, implement, and maintain Engineering Standards across products, processes, tooling, and manufacturing systems.
9. Lead product design validation, process trials, APQP activities, and industrialization of new products.
10. Ensure effective implementation and compliance with the Change Management Process for product and process modifications.
11. Ensure adherence to all Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) related to products, processes, quality systems, and documentation.
12. Coordinate with Quality, Production, Tool Room, SCM, and Commercial teams to achieve successful product launches.
13. Analyze engineering and manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
14. Identify training needs, develop competency plans, and mentor team members reporting directly to the role.
15. Support audits related to IATF 16949, customer audits, and internal audits by ensuring engineering compliance.
16. Monitor project timelines, resource utilization, and achievement of NPD milestones.
17. Lead risk assessment activities related to new products, tooling, processes, and customer requirements.
18. Ensure continuous compliance with statutory, safety, quality, and organizational requirements.
