Job summary

Cegeka in Chennai seeks an experienced .NET/SQL Developer with a strong production support mindset. You will provide L2/L3 support, resolve incidents, perform RCA, and drive improvements while ensuring SLA adherence in a live production environment.

You will develop and maintain applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, and Web API, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and stability.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in .NET application development and production support.
• Strong experience in L2/L3 application support within an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with incident management, problem management, RCA, SQL performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with live production environments and meeting SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for .NET-based applications.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced .NET / SQL Developer to join our application maintenance and production support team. The role involves providing L2/L3 application support, incident resolution, problem management, defect fixing, minor enhancements, technical troubleshooting, and production stability for business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should have a strong development + production support mindset, with hands‑on experience in C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, Web APIs, SQL Server, application debugging, and production incident management. The candidate should be comfortable working in a live production environment, meeting SLAs, performing RCA, and driving continuous improvements through automation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Support

• Provide L2/L3 support for .NET-based applications.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Troubleshoot application failures, errors, and performance issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring and high-severity incidents.
• Ensure application availability, stability, and performance.

2. .NET Development & Maintenance

• Develop and maintain applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, and Web API.
• Analyze existing code and implement defect fixes.
• Develop minor enhancements and change requests.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot application issues across development and production environments.

3. SQL Server Support

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Troubleshoot database‑related application issues.
• Analyze execution plans and resolve SQL performance issues.
• Support approved production data fixes and database activities.

4. Incident & Problem Management

• Investigate application failures, data issues, and performance degradation.
• Perform RCA and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Identify recurring incidents and recommend preventive measures.
• Participate in Major Incident Management when required.

5. Production Monitoring

• Monitor application health, batch jobs, interfaces, and scheduled processes.
• Analyze application logs, alerts, and system behavior.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, database, network, and third‑party teams to resolve incidents.

6. Release & Deployment Support

• Support application releases and production deployments.
• Prepare deployment scripts, release documentation, and rollback procedures.
• Perform post‑deployment validation and production verification.

7. Integration Support

• Troubleshoot REST/SOAP APIs and application integrations.
• Investigate interface failures and data synchronization issues.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream application teams.

8. Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Create and maintain application runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer within the support team.

9. Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify repetitive manual support activities and automate them.
• Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce MTTR.
• Recommend improvements to reduce ticket volumes and recurring incidents.

10. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with business users, application owners, infrastructure teams, and third‑party vendors.
• Provide clear technical updates during incidents and service reviews.
• Participate in application support governance and service review meetings.
