Isoft Services in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Application/Production Support Engineer to maintain stability, availability and performance of critical enterprise apps in production. You will handle incident management, troubleshooting, RCA, and coordinate with development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure and DBA teams.
The role includes monitoring, deployment support, batch jobs, APIs and continuous improvement via documentation and health checks, with 24x7 on-call rotations when required.
We are looking for an experienced Application Support / Production Support Engineer responsible for maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical applications in production environments. The role involves incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, application monitoring, deployment support, and coordination with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams.
Provide L1/L2/L3 application and production support for enterprise applications.
Monitor production applications, services, interfaces, and scheduled jobs.
Analyze and resolve production incidents, service requests, and application issues within defined SLAs.
Perform troubleshooting using application logs, server logs, database queries, and monitoring tools.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring and critical production incidents.
Handle application outages, performance issues, batch failures, and integration/API failures.
Monitor and support batch jobs, schedulers, interfaces, APIs, and background processes.
Perform basic to advanced troubleshooting of SQL/database-related issues.
Support application deployments, releases, patches, configuration changes, and production validations.
Coordinate with Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Network, DBA, and Business teams for issue resolution.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Create and maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
Perform health checks and proactively identify potential production issues.
Participate in 24x7 production support / rotational on-call support when required.
Ensure compliance with organizational security, change-management, and operational procedures.
Communicate incident status, impact, resolution, and timelines to stakeholders.
Strong experience in Application Support / Production Support.
Good knowledge of Java / .NET / web-based enterprise applications.
Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting and data validation.
Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, JSON, XML, and application integrations.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
Knowledge of application servers such as Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Grafana.
Good understanding of ITIL, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and SLA management.
Exposure to Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments is an advantage.
Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
Knowledge of AWS / Azure / GCP cloud platforms.
Experience supporting microservices and distributed applications.
Knowledge of Kafka, MQ, API Gateway, or other messaging/integration platforms.
Understanding of application performance monitoring and capacity management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
4–9 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, Technical Support, or IT Operations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
