Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Noida invites a skilled Network Engineer to support and optimize our L2 routing and switching environment. You will handle on-site 24x7 incident response, changes, and CMDB updates, coordinating with Telecoms, vendors and the Network Delivery team.

The ideal candidate holds CCNA/CCNP, strong Cisco LAN/WAN expertise (Nexus, Cisco routers/switches), good troubleshooting, and solid communication.

Qualifications

• CCNA/CCNP certification required.
• Strong Cisco LAN/WAN experience in a routing and switching environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in Cisco environments (Nexus 5500/6500/4500; 3900/3800 routers; 3700/3500/2900 switches).
• Knowledge of Wireless technologies (autonomous and lightweight).
• Experience with DNS/DHCP/NNMi and network logging tools.
• Familiar with network sniffers (Wireshark or equivalent).
• Coordination with telecoms, service providers and OEMs.
• Excellent communication skills and ITIL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Network support from on-site, 24x7 shift.
• Address day-to-day network incidents and changes.
• Monitor network and coordinate with tools team for device changes.
• Support configurations in network infrastructure.
• Maintain on-site spares for network gear.
• Coordinate with Network Delivery team for ongoing projects.
• Keep Network CMDB up to date.
• Handle patching requests and update TRAX.
• Vendor coordination with telecoms and OEMs for faults.
• Ensure related process documents are current.

Role: Projects- Network routing switching L2

Location: Noida

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

• Candidate should be CCNA/CCNP certified
• Excellent in Cisco Routing and Switching environment LAN & WAN
• Troubleshooting skills for Cisco Environment in quick time (Nexus 5500/6500/4500 series,Cisco Enterprise routers 3900, 3800 & LAN switches 3700, 3500, 2900 series) and CAT OS
• Knowledge of Wireless technology autonomous and lightweight.
• Good Knowledge of tools, DNS/DHCP/HPOV NNMi
• Knowledge of network sniffer for capturing logs (Wireshark/ Ethereal/ Solar-wind or any other equivalent)
• Experienced in coordination with Telecoms/Service provider/Vendor coordination
• Knowledge of cabling and various modules (Ethernet and Fiber) /Load balancer/F5/Cisco ACE preferable.
• Excellent Communication skill
• ITIL certification

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

• 1 Network support from on-site, 24X7 support shift support
• 2 Provide support on day to day network incidents and issues.
• 3 Monitor the network and work with Network tools team for addition/deletion of the devices.
• 4 Support day to day changes and configurations in network infrastructure.
• 5 Manage and maintain the On-site spares availability for network infrastructure.
• 6 Coordinates with Network Delivery team for ongoing projects and provides support from Operations.
• 7 Maintain the Network CMDB up to date.
• 8 Support day to day cable patching requests and update the TRAX.
• 9 Vendor Coordination with Telecoms, Service providers & OEMs in the event of any faults or hardware issues
• 10 Ensure all related process documents are up to date.
