Job summary

Kerala Vision is seeking an experienced L2 Network Engineer to join our 24x7 NOC team, monitoring and troubleshooting IP/MPLS routing and switching in a multi-vendor environment.

You will handle L2 incidents from L1, perform fault isolation, configure routers/switches per MOPs, log tickets, coordinate with field teams, and escalate issues to L3/vendor while supporting maintenance and capacity reporting.

Qualifications

• CCNA qualification required for network fundamentals and access discipline.
• CCNP or vendor-specific certifications preferred for advanced routing/switching expertise.
• Proven experience with L2/L3 routing and MPLS in service provider environments.
• Strong knowledge of BGP/OSPF and static routing configurations.
• Solid understanding of VLAN, STP/RSTP, LACP, and EtherChannel.
• Familiarity with NMS/EMS monitoring and alarm management.
• Basic ITIL knowledge for incident/change management.
• Ability to work in rotational 24x7 shifts.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability via NMS/EMS dashboards.
• Handle L2-level troubleshooting for routing, switching, and MPLS incidents escalated from L1.
• Perform fault isolation and resolution within defined SLA timelines.
• Configure and maintain routers/switches per MOPs and change requests.
• Log, track, and update incident tickets in ITSM tools (ServiceNow/Remedy).
• Coordinate with field/onsite teams for hardware replacement and link issues.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L3/vendor with proper documentation.
• Support scheduled maintenance, patches, and software upgrades.
• Maintain shift handover reports and network status logs.
• Assist in capacity monitoring and utilization reporting of network links.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled L2 Network Engineer to join our 24x7 NOC team. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining IP/MPLS routing and switching infrastructure, handling incident escalations from L1, and ensuring optimal network performance across a multi-vendor service provider environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability through NMS/EMS dashboards and alarms.
• Handle L2-level troubleshooting for routing, switching, and MPLS-related incidents escalated from L1.
• Perform fault isolation and resolution for network outages within defined SLA timelines.
• Configure and maintain routers/switches as per approved MOPs and change requests.
• Log, track, and update incident tickets in the ITSM/ticketing tool (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
• Coordinate with field/onsite teams for hardware replacement and physical link issues.
• Escalate unresolved critical issues to L3/vendor support with proper documentation.
• Support scheduled maintenance activities, patching, and software upgrades.
• Maintain accurate shift handover reports and network status logs.
• Assist in capacity monitoring and utilization reporting of network links.

Must-Have Skills & Keywords

• Solid understanding of IP Routing and Switching fundamentals (L2/L3).
• Working knowledge of MPLS concepts and service provider network operations.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, and static routing.
• Good understanding of VLAN, Spanning Tree (STP/RSTP), and Link Aggregation (LACP).
• Familiarity with NMS/EMS monitoring tools and alarm management.
• Basic ITIL process knowledge Incident and Change Management.
• Ability to work in rotational 24x7 shifts (including night shifts).
• Good communication and documentation skills.
