Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Network L2 Administrator to manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, and firewall incidents. The role requires strong TCP/IP, MPLS, VLAN, STP/HSRP skills and experience with Cisco devices and WLCs.

You will work with global teams in a 24x7 shift environment, focusing on rapid issue resolution, documentation, and knowledge sharing to maintain network health and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong network administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding and troubleshooting TCP/IP, switching/routing protocols, MPLS, load balancing.
• Knowledge of STP, VTP, HSRP, VLAN, QoS and other switching technologies.
• Experience with Cisco Wireless Controllers.
• Exposure to firewalls (Cisco ASA / Palo Alto / Checkpoint).
• Analytical mindset and ability to coordinate with distributed teams.
• Excellent English communication and flexibility for 24x7 shifts.
• Team player with capacity to handle multiple tasks with priority conflicts.
• Routing protocols and product knowledge across MPLS, BGP/EIGRP, and Cisco devices.
• Cisco routers/switches and security products (FWS, WLC, ASA, Zscaler, SD-WAN, ACI).

Responsibilities

• Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues.
• Troubleshoot network problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, routing protocols, and LAN/WAN connectivity.
• Perform basic configuration tasks on Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
• Monitor health and performance of network devices using NMS tools.
• Analyze logs and events to resolve issues with switches, routers, firewalls, and WLAN APs.
• Support L1 engineers through guided troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 and ensure closure.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and update knowledge base articles.
• Provide support in a 24x7 shift-based environment

• 1 Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues.
