Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Noida seeks an experienced Network routing switching L2 professional to join the on-site operations team. The role focuses on Cisco LAN/WAN environments, Nexus and Cisco routers/switches, with emphasis on troubleshooting, wireless knowledge, and close coordination with telecom providers.

The candidate should hold CCNA/CCNP certification, have strong communication skills, and be able to support 24x7 incident handling and network changes.

Qualifications

• Must have CCNA/CCNP certification.
• Proficient in Cisco Routing and Switching LAN & WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Cisco environments (Nexus, routers, switches).
• Knowledge of Wireless technologies (autonomous and lightweight).
• Good knowledge of DNS/DHCP/NNMi tools.
• Experience with network sniffers (Wireshark).
• Coordination with Telecoms/Service providers/vendors.
• Familiar with cabling/modules (Ethernet/Fiber) and load balancers like F5/Cisco ACE.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site network support with 24x7 shift coverage.
• Handle day-to-day network incidents and issues.
• Monitor network and work with tools team for device management.
• Support changes and configurations in network infrastructure.
• Maintain on-site spares for network infrastructure.
• Coordinate with Network Delivery for ongoing projects and provide operations support.
• Keep Network CMDB up to date.
• Handle patching requests and update tracking systems.
• Coordinate with telecoms and OEMs for faults or hardware issues.
• Ensure all related process documents are up to date.

Role: Network routing switching L2

Location: Noida

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

• Candidate should be CCNA/CCNP certified
• Excellent in Cisco Routing and Switching environment LAN & WAN
• Troubleshooting skills for Cisco Environment in quick time (Nexus 5500/6500/4500 series,Cisco Enterprise routers 3900, 3800 & LAN switches 3700, 3500, 2900 series) and CAT OS
• Knowledge of Wireless technology autonomous and lightweight.
• Good Knowledge of tools, DNS/DHCP/HPOV NNMi
• Knowledge of network sniffer for capturing logs (Wireshark/ Ethereal/ Solar-wind or any other equivalent)
• Experienced in coordination with Telecoms/Service provider/Vendor coordination
• Knowledge of cabling and various modules (Ethernet and Fiber) /Load balancer/F5/Cisco ACE preferable.
• Excellent Communication skill

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1. Network support from on-site, 24X7 support shift support
2. Provide support on day to day network incidents and issues.
3. Monitor the network and work with Network tools team for addition/deletion of the devices.
4. Support day to day changes and configurations in network infrastructure.
5. Manage and maintain the On-site spares availability for network infrastructure.
6. Coordinates with Network Delivery team for ongoing projects and provides support from Operations.
7. Maintain the Network CMDB up to date.
8. Support day to day cable patching requests and update the TRAX.
9. Vendor Coordination with Telecoms, Service providers & OEMs in the event of any faults or hardware issues
10. Ensure all related process documents are up to date.
