Job summary

Amor Management Consultants is seeking an experienced Mould Maintenance Manager to plan and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of moulds across multiple production locations in Tamil Nadu. You will lead a maintenance team, coordinate with suppliers, ensure spare parts availability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of moulds across production locations.
• Ensure mould readiness as per production schedules.
• Monitor mould performance and implement actions to extend life and reduce breakdowns.
• Manage tool room activities including mould assembly, disassembly, repairs, and modifications.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and consumables.
• Coordinate with external vendors for mould refurbishment and repairs.
• Lead and develop the mould maintenance team.
• Allocate manpower and resources effectively.
• Conduct skill development and technical training programs.
• Establish performance targets and monitor productivity.
• Analyse recurring mould failures and implement corrective actions.
• Drive cost reduction, productivity, and quality projects.
• Support new mould trials, validation, and improvements.
• Implement TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Ensure moulds meet quality and dimensional requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and history cards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support customer audits and internal audits.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, PPC, and Engineering; participate in new product development and mould feasibility reviews.
• Assist production teams in resolving mould-related issues.
• Effective spare and inventory management.
• Continuous improvement to reduce maintenance cost.
• Tool room support on improvement activities in other areas.
• Train and develop staff and workers of mould maintenance.
• Document all maintenance activity.

3. Achieve mould maintenance KPIs related to downtime, breakdowns, MTTR, and MTBF.
4. Ensure timely execution of maintenance schedules and mould refurbishment activities.
5. Lead and develop the mould maintenance team to achieve operational excellence.
6. Control maintenance costs while improving mould performance and life.
7. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and statutory requirements.
8. Support new mould development, trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and audit compliance.
10. Breakdown of moulds due to wrong handling.
11. Line stop or sales loss due to mould.
12. Mould maintenance cost as per budget.
13. Achieving the X-Matrix goals.
14. Spares reconciliation.

Authority

1. Authorize mould maintenance and repair activities.
2. Allocate manpower and maintenance resources.
3. Approve maintenance schedules and priorities.
4. Recommend mould modifications and refurbishment requirements.
5. Initiate procurement requests for maintenance spares and consumables.
6. Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers.
7. Implement corrective and preventive maintenance actions.
8. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.
9. Evaluate team performance and recommend skill development initiatives.
10. Escalate critical issues impacting mould performance and production continuity.
11. Take disciplinary action on the team members.
