• Design and deliver inquiry-based, communicative language instruction for Grades 6–12, building proficiency across reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Teach IB DP Spanish B (SL and HL) and IB DP Spanish ab initio SL with alignment to IB Language Acquisition objectives and course requirements; teach Grade 6-10 students at varying proficiency levels with progression toward DP readiness.
• Design and implement formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, and use data to adjust instruction and support individual learners.
• Collaborate with world languages departmental colleagues on vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
• Introduce students to the Spanish culture, history, and literature to enhance global perspectives and engage diverse learners.
• Lead a grade-level advisory and co-curricular activities, chaperone experiential learning trips, and supervise students, fostering a respectful, inclusive environment.

The American School of Bombay (ASB) seeks a skilled Middle & High School Spanish Teacher to design and deliver Spanish language instruction for students in Grades 6–12. The teacher teaches a range of courses at varying levels of language acquisition, including IB Diploma Programme Spanish B (SL and HL) and IB Diploma Programme Spanish ab initio SL. They design authentic learning engagements that encourage students to connect language learning to real-world contexts, fostering communicative competence and a genuine appreciation for the language.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and deliver inquiry-based, communicative language instruction for Grades 6–12, building proficiency across reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Teach IB DP Spanish B (SL and HL) and IB DP Spanish ab initio SL with rigorous alignment to IB Language Acquisition objectives, assessment criteria, and course requirements; teach Spanish to Grade 6-10 students at varying proficiency levels with coherent progression toward DP readiness.
• Design and implement a range of formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, and use data to adjust instruction and support individual learners. Differentiate amongst language competencies, incorporating evidence-based practices, research-based
