As part of the Arts department, you will showcase student work, integrate technology and AI to develop digital fluency, and support CAS and Extended Essays.

POSITION SUMMARY

The visual arts teacher delivers an inquiry-based visual arts program for Grades 9–12, including the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Visual Arts. They guide students to build technical skill, conceptual understanding, and a personal voice through experimentation and critical reflection. They foster a studio culture where students take creative risks, respond to feedback, and connect their work to diverse cultural contexts. As a member of the Arts department, they showcase student work to the school community and contribute to the School’s mission to develop the whole child.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and deliver a sequential Grades 9–12 visual arts curriculum aligned with the National Core Arts Standards and IB DP course requirements.
• Guide IB DP students through art-making inquiries, the connections study, and the selection of resolved artworks.
• Build student skills across two-dimensional, three-dimensional, digital, and lens-based media.
• Engage students with artists, movements, and cultural traditions, including India's art and visual culture.
• Assess learning in line with ASB's assessment policy and IB criteria, and effectively manage IB internal assessment, moderation, and submission deadlines. Differentiate instruction using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and tiered supports, embedding the IB Learner Profile and ATL skills.
• Curate student exhibitions, supervise Extended Essays, and support CAS as assigned.
• Integrate technology, digital tools, and AI to develop digital fluency literacy.
• Lead an advisory group, supervise students, and chaperone experiential learning trips, fostering a respectful, inclusive environment that supports student well-being.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment and shared practice, and document curriculum, assessments, and resources in school-approved platforms.
