Deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction across middle and high school social sciences, plan rigorous units, analyze sources, differentiate, and assess progress.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering inquiry-based social sciences instruction.
• Familiarity with IB Diploma Programme requirements and assessment.
• Ability to analyze primary and secondary sources critically.
• Culturally responsive teaching practices and student voice.
• Experience leading advisory groups and supervising students.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction across middle and high school social sciences courses, including IB Diploma Programme subjects.
• Plan rigorous units that connect to real-world issues and align with the C3 Framework, Common Core Standards, and IB requirements.
• Engage students in analyzing primary and secondary sources, questioning narratives, and considering multiple perspectives.
• Use culturally responsive, inclusive practices that value diverse perspectives as well as elevate student voice and choice. Sca ff old and di ff erentiate instruction to meet adolescent learners' developmental needs while fostering independence and creativity.
• Assess learning in line with ASB's assessment policy, using formative and summative evidence to monitor progress, re fi ne instruction, and give feedback.
• Integrate technology purposefully to strengthen research and writing while upholding academic integrity.
• Lead an advisory group, supervise students, chaperone experiential learning trips, and support co-curricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to re fi ne practice & advance departmental, divisional, & schoolwide initiatives.
• Document curriculum, assessments, and resources in school-approved platforms.
