The American School of Bombay (ASB) in Mumbai seeks an innovative High School Social Sciences Teacher to design and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based instruction for Grades 9–12, teaching Economics within the IB Diploma Programme (SL and HL) and Theory of Knowledge.

You will also support a holistic program with advisory and co-curricular activities while collaborating with colleagues to refine practice and advance school-wide initiatives.

Qualificações

• Experience delivering IB DP Economics (SL/HL) and TOK.
• Ability to design inquiry-based, rigorous HS social science units.
• Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Strong assessment literacy and differentiation.
• Experience integrating technology to support research and writing.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based social sciences instruction, with an emphasis on Economics, that fosters critical thinking, research, and analytical problem-solving.
• Teach IB DP Economics (SL and HL) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK), ensuring alignment with IB Diploma Programme requirements and assessment criteria.
• Employ culturally responsive and inclusive practices that value diverse perspectives and connect learning to real-world contexts.
• Assess learning in line with ASB's assessment policy, using formative and summative evidence to monitor progress, refine instruction, give feedback, and report growth. Scaffold and differentiate instruction to meet students' developmental needs, prior knowledge, and learning preferences while fostering independence and creativity.
• Integrate technology purposefully to strengthen research & writing while upholding academic integrity.
• Cultivate a respectful, inclusive community through advisory, supervision, and daily interactions that support empathy, cultural understanding, and well-being.
• Chaperone experiential learning and support co-curricular activities extending learning beyond the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues to refine practice and advance departmental, divisional, and school-wide initiatives.
