Responsibilities

• Teach IB Diploma Programme Chemistry at Standard and Higher Level in Grades 11 and 12, and Integrated Science in Grades 9 and 10.
• Deliver inquiry-based chemistry instruction, including laboratory investigations, that builds critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Design authentic units aligned with NGSS and IB requirements that connect chemistry to real-world and interdisciplinary STEM learning.
• Adapt instruction to students' developmental needs and prior knowledge to promote independence, creativity, and the IB Learner Profile attributes.
• Assess learning using formative and summative evidence, including IB internal assessment, to monitor progress, refine instruction, and give feedback.
• Integrate technology, digital tools, and AI to build computational thinking and digital fluency.
• Lead an advisory group, supervise students, and chaperone experiential learning trips to foster an inclusive environment that supports well-being.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment, and document curriculum, assessments, and resources in school-approved platforms.

POSITION SUMMARY

The High School Science / Chemistry Teacher designs and delivers rigorous, inquiry-based science instruction for Grades 9-12. They teach Integrated Science in Grades 9 and 10, aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and IB Diploma Programme Chemistry at the Standard and Higher Levels in Grades 11 and

12. Through hands-on laboratory investigation, they spark students' curiosity, sharpen their critical thinking, and

deepen their understanding of matter and its interactions.
