Job summary

The American School of Bombay (ASB) seeks a Middle and High School Mathematics Teacher to deliver engaging IB DP math instruction at SL and HL, fostering conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

You will collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, support student well-being, integrate technology, and lead advisory activities while contributing to a respectful, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach IB Diploma Programme Mathematics at Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL).
• Deliver inquiry-based instruction that builds conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving, reflecting the IB learner profile and demands of the IB DP.
• Adapt instruction to students' developmental needs and prior knowledge, supporting diverse learners while promoting independence, creativity, and mathematical reasoning.
• Design authentic units aligned with the IB framework and AERO Math Standards that connect mathematics to real-world and interdisciplinary STEM learning.
• Use data and formative and summative assessments to monitor progress, refine instruction, and provide meaningful feedback.
• Integrate technology, digital tools, and AI to develop computational thinking and digital fluency.
• Lead an advisory group, supervise students, and chaperone experiential learning trips, fostering a respectful, inclusive environment that supports student well-being.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment and shared practice, and document curriculum, assessments, and resources in school-approved platforms.
