Job summary

Merchandising Head Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the entire merchandising team and manage buyer accounts.
• Handle buyer communication, order booking, negotiation, and follow-ups.
• Plan and monitor TNA, sampling, costing, production, and shipment timelines.
• Review and approve costing, consumption, CM, trims, and fabric requirements.
• Negotiate with buyers and suppliers to achieve target price and profitability.
• Coordinate with Design, Sampling, Fabric, Accessories, Production, Quality, and PPC teams.
• Ensure on-time sample submission and approvals.
• Monitor order status, production progress, and shipment schedules.
• Handle buyer comments, technical issues, and approvals.
• Ensure orders are executed as per buyer specifications, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Identify risks related to cost, quality, capacity, and delivery and take corrective action.
• Prepare and review MIS, order status, costing, and business reports for management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international buyers.
• Guide merchandisers on product knowledge, costing, negotiation, communication, and execution.
• Support management in business development, new buyer acquisition, and order planning.
