Job summary

Indian Designs Exports Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Merchandiser to manage day-to-day buyer communications, review orders, coordinate sampling, and ensure production timelines are met. You will liaise with fabric and trims teams to procure materials and prepare production files for the factory.

You will also handle buyer queries, monitor TNAs, update costing, and mentor junior staff to ensure smooth end-to-end order execution from development through shipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day communication with buyers and provide regular updates on orders.
• Review buyer order sheets and coordinate clarifications with buyers.
• Coordinate sampling and product development, ensuring timely dispatch of samples.
• Inspect and verify samples for measurements, specs, workmanship, fabric, trims.
• Handle buyer queries and follow-ups with relevant teams.
• Prepare, update and monitor TNA calendars to meet timelines.
• Prepare and update product costing per buyer requirements and specs.
• Coordinate with fabric and trims teams/vendors for timely procurement.
• Ensure fabric, trims, and accessories are available per order/production schedules.
• Prepare and issue complete production files to factory within timelines.
• Attend pre-production meetings and provide clarifications on fabrics, trims, etc.
• Coordinate with factory teams on production planning and progress.
• Coordinate with EXIM department for shipment documents within timelines.
• Monitor order execution and resolve delays with relevant departments.
• Guide and mentor junior merchandising staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day communication and correspondence with buyers, providing regular updates on order status, sampling, production, and delivery schedules.
• Review buyer order sheets thoroughly upon receipt and coordinate with buyers to clarify and resolve any discrepancies or missing information.
• Coordinate the complete sampling and product development process, ensuring samples are developed as per buyer requirements and dispatched within the agreed timelines.
• Inspect and verify samples for measurements, specifications, workmanship, fabric, trims, and other buyer requirements before submission/dispatch.
• Handle and resolve buyer queries and concerns related to new developments, ensuring timely communication and follow-up with the concerned teams.
• Prepare, update, and monitor TNA calendars to ensure all activities are completed within the planned timelines.
• Prepare and update product costingin line with buyer requirements and approved specifications.
• Coordinate with fabric and trims teams/vendors for timely ordering and procurement of materials required for production.
• Ensure fabric, trims, and accessories are booked and available as per order requirements and production schedules.
• Prepare and issue complete production files to the factory within the stipulated timeline, ensuring all necessary information and approvals are included.
• Attend pre-production meetings and provide necessary clarifications and approvals related to fabrics, trims, accessories, construction, measurements, and buyer specifications.
• Coordinate closely with factory teams on production planning and follow up on production progress to ensure orders are completed and delivered within the committed timelines.
• Coordinate with the EXIM departmentand provide all required shipment/order-related documents within the specified timelines.
• Monitor order execution closely and proactively identify potential delays or issues, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution.
• Guide, supervise, and train junior merchandising staff to ensure effective execution of their responsibilities.
• Maintain effective coordination between buyers, design, sourcing, production, quality, factory, and other internal teams to ensure smooth order execution from development through shipment.
