Job summary

Global Personnel Services Llp is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer/Coordinator for industrial construction projects. You will plan, execute, and coordinate MEP works, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.

You will read drawings, prepare schedules, and liaise with consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver integrated services on site. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• 8–13 years of experience in MEP projects within industrial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and BOQs.
• Familiarity with IS Codes, NBC, and safety norms.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all MEP activities at site (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Utilities).
• Ensure MEP works follow approved drawings and specs; coordinate with civil and architectural teams.
• Prepare MEP work schedules, monitor progress, and manage material and manpower.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning; rectify snags; prepare IRs and reports.
• Ensure safety compliance, PPE usage, and regulatory adherence at site.
• Prepare DPRs, verify contractor bills, and maintain drawings, BOQs, and handover docs.

Job Summary

The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning, execution, coordination, and quality control of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in industrial construction projects. The role ensures that all MEP installations are completed as per drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate all MEP activities at site (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Utilities).
• Ensure execution of MEP works as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and architectural teams for smooth integration of services.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and vendors for MEP-related activities.

2. Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare MEP work schedules and monitor progress against project milestones.
• Identify material and manpower requirements and ensure timely availability.
• Attend project review meetings and provide progress updates.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with project standards and codes.
• Conduct inspections and testing of MEP installations.
• Prepare inspection requests (IR), checklists, and test reports.
• Rectify snags and ensure proper commissioning of systems.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all MEP activities follow safety rules and statutory requirements.
• Enforce use of PPE and safe work practices at site.
• Comply with electrical, fire, and plumbing regulations as per local authorities.

5. Billing & Documentation

• Prepare daily progress reports (DPR) and weekly/monthly reports.
• Verify contractor bills and quantities related to MEP works.
• Maintain drawings, BOQs, material submittals, and approvals.
• Prepare as-built drawings and handover documents.

6. Testing & Commissioning

• Supervise testing and commissioning of HVAC, electrical systems, fire fighting systems, and plumbing.
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and authorities for approvals.
• Support final handover and client inspection.

Technical Skills Required

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, Electrical distribution, Fire Fighting, Plumbing & Drainage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and BOQs.
• Familiar with IS Codes, NBC, and industrial safety norms.
• Experience with industrial utilities like compressed air, chilled water, DG sets, and process piping (preferred).
• AutoCAD & MS Office proficiency.
