Mep Project Engineer

Job summary

Tapco Pneumatics is seeking an MEP Project Engineer in Chennai to support planning, execution, supervision, and completion of MEP works at project sites. You will coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure safe, efficient MEP activities per drawings and schedules.

The role requires reading drawings, familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office, and strong on-site coordination to avoid clashes and delays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering, as stated in the ad.
• 26 years of relevant experience in MEP project execution as required by the listing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing MEP works at the project site.
• Review and understand approved MEP drawings, layouts, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Ensure site execution is carried out as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, and other project teams to avoid clashes and delays.
• Monitor the work of subcontractors, technicians, and site workers.
• Prepare daily work progress reports and maintain proper site documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Inspect materials received at site and ensure they meet approved specifications.
• Monitor manpower deployment and ensure effective utilization of resources.
• Identify site issues and coordinate with the Project Manager for timely resolution.
• Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Assist in preparing method statements, inspection requests, checklists, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and applicable codes and specifications.
• Follow and enforce site safety procedures and company safety policies.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders as required.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings, testing reports, commissioning documents, and project handover documents.
• Monitor project schedules and highlight potential delays to the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the project site.
