Job summary

Tuv is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for an industrial project in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The role covers pre-construction activities, MEP coordination, installation, and site execution with emphasis on reviewing drawings, planning, and cross-discipline coordination.

Candidates should have a BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and 12–15 years of relevant experience, including testing, commissioning and energisation of electrical systems on large industrial projects.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 12–15 years in electrical engineering and industrial project execution.
• Strong in pre-construction planning, MEP coordination and installation.
• Experience in refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas or other large projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical and MEP drawings, specs and diagrams.
• Coordinate with HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, and structural teams.
• Plan construction sequencing and prepare BOQs and work packages.
• Supervise transformer, switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs and DB installations.
• Ensure safety, QA/QC, and adherence to schedules; support testing and energisation.
• Prepare progress reports for client and management review.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electrical pre‑construction activities, MEP coordination, installation and site execution for an industrial project at Jamnagar.

The role involves reviewing electrical and MEP drawings, planning construction activities, supervising electrical installations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, resolving site issues and supporting testing, commissioning and energisation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction and MEP Activities

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules and technical documents.
• Review coordinated MEP drawings, shop drawings, builders work drawings and service layouts.
• Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, civil and structural teams.
• Identify and resolve clashes involving cable trays, ducts, piping, equipment and structural elements.
• Conduct constructability reviews and identify technical or execution-related constraints before starting construction.
• Review electrical rooms, substations, equipment rooms, utility areas and service-routing requirements.
• Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, material requirements and construction work packages.
• Plan manpower, materials, tools, equipment, work fronts and construction sequencing.
• Prepare method statements, installation procedures and execution plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, BIM, planning, procurement, contracts, QA/QC and safety teams.
• Review vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, material submittals and technical documents.
• Identify long-lead electrical items and support procurement planning.
• Participate in design reviews, project kick-off meetings, MEP coordination meetings and site-readiness assessments.

Electrical Installation and Execution

• Supervise installation of transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, UPS systems and distribution boards.
• Manage cable-tray installation, HT/LT cable laying, glanding and termination activities.
• Supervise earthing, lightning protection, industrial lighting and power-distribution works.
• Coordinate electrical power and control connections for HVAC systems, pumps, motors, firefighting systems, plumbing equipment and other MEP services.
• Ensure installation activities are completed as per approved drawings, coordinated MEP layouts, specifications and project schedules.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, HVAC, piping, plumbing, firefighting and instrumentation teams.
• Monitor contractor manpower, productivity, material availability and daily site progress.
• Resolve technical queries, drawing discrepancies, MEP clashes and site-interface issues.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, quality procedures and statutory standards.
• Review method statements, inspection and test plans, checklists and installation records.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and energisation activities.
• Coordinate integrated testing and commissioning of electrical and MEP systems.
• Ensure timely closure of punch points, inspection observations and non-conformities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports for client and management review.

Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 12-15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and industrial project execution.
• Strong experience in pre-construction planning, MEP coordination, installation and execution.
• Experience in refinery, petrochemical, oil and gas, power, manufacturing or other large industrial projects will be preferred.
• Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning and energisation of electrical systems.
• Ability to independently coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and internal project teams.
• Willingness to work at the Jamnagar project site.
• Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.
