Job summary

Kaleidoscope is seeking an experienced BIM Engineer for on-site MEP modeling in Chennai. You will develop detailed BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, coordinating with architects and engineers to ensure clash-free designs and constructible layouts.

Responsibilities include BIM modeling, coordination, clash detection, takeoffs, and maintaining project documentation in line with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Proficiency in BIM software platforms such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems design principles and construction methods.
• Experience in developing and managing BIM models for MEP systems in construction projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC).

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models of MEP systems using Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate MEP within building design and ensure coordination.
• Assist in design and layout of MEP systems based on project requirements and codes.
• Conduct clash detection analyses to resolve conflicts with other building components.
• Utilize BIM models for quantity takeoff and cost estimation of MEP components.
• Maintain organized BIM models and documentation, including version control and as-built records.
• Stay updated with BIM standards and protocols for MEP projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems using industry-standard software such as Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly within the building design, ensuring spatial coordination and clash detection.
• Assist in the design and layout of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems based on project requirements, codes, and standards.
• Conduct clash detection analysis to identify and resolve conflicts between MEP systems and other building components, ensuring constructability and coordination.
• Utilize BIM models for accurate quantity takeoff and cost estimation of MEP components, aiding in project budgeting and cost control.
• Maintain organized BIM models and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including version control, model updates, and as-built documentation.
• Stay updated with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies related to BIM for MEP systems, and ensure adherence to project-specific BIM standards and protocols.
