Job summary

You will lead end-to-end design activities, coordinate with cross-functional teams, support prototypes and validation, and drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and shorten

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of hands-on mechanical design experience.
• Experience across product development and manufacturing.
• Proficiency in GD&T and detailed engineering using Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design activities from concept to release for manufacturing.
• Create and validate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using Siemens NX (UG NX) with GD&T.
• Apply manufacturing methodologies and ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
• Generate BOMs, part specs, and coordinate sourcing with procurement and vendors.
• Manage product data and revisions using PLM tools (ECOs/ECRs, release workflows).
• Interface with R&D, manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and vendors to resolve issues.
• Support prototype development, verification, and testing activities.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and shorten development cycles.
• Prepare technical documentation and assembly instructions; assist troubleshooting.

DESIGN-ENGINEER Larsen & Toubro Limited is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 6–8 years of hands-on experience across product development and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will drive concept generation through detailed engineering, apply diverse manufacturing methodologies, and produce robust 3D and 2D designs using Siemens NX (UG NX). Experience working with PLM systems and cross-functional teams to manage product data, revisions, and release processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design activities from concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed engineering and release for manufacturing.
• Create and validate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using Siemens NX (UG NX); ensure models meet GD&T and engineering standards.
• Select and apply appropriate manufacturing methodologies (machining, casting, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, additive manufacturing), and ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
• Generate BOMs, part specifications, and tolerance stacks; coordinate with procurement and vendors to source components and processes.
• Manage product data and engineering change processes using PLM tools (part creation, ECOs/ECRs, revision control, release workflows).
• Interface with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and vendors) to resolve design-for-manufacture issues and support production launches.
• Perform FEA validation (or coordinate with CAE), prototype development support, design verification & testing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve manufacturability and shorten product development cycles.
• Prepare technical documentation, assembly instructions and support manufacturing troubleshooting and perform root-cause analysis when required.
